TV personality Aly Goni appears to have made a veiled jab at RJ Mahvash after the latter's recent assertion that she was a "good luck charm" for Team India after the Champions Trophy win. Aly, who was a contestant on Laughter Chefs, made a post on his Instagram stories defending his position, crediting the coaches and players for the team's victory rather than outside influences.
"Indian team ki aur coaches ki mehnat, nope. Every Indian girl who was present in the stadium… on social media 'I am lucky'," Aly wrote, quietly criticizing Mahvash without mentioning her name.
The controversy erupted when RJ Mahvash was seen with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal during the India vs New Zealand Champions Trophy match in Dubai. The Instagram post soon became viral, gaining mixed reactions from critics and fans.
Speculation about Mahvash's connection with Chahal intensified when she posted a photo from a Christmas party in December 2024. The photo of Chahal and her friends was captioned, "Christmas lunch con familia." This left people wondering if Mahvash might be the mystery woman with Chahal following his alleged breakup with Dhanashree Verma.
In response to the increasing gossip, Mahvash went on Instagram to correct the misinformation. Brushing off the dating gossip, she stated, "Some speculations and articles have been going around the internet. It's literally amusing to see how unnecessary these are. If you are SEEN with an opposite gender, so you are dating that person? I am sorry, what year is this? I have been waiting patiently for 2-3 days now, but I won't let any PR teams bring my name into this to cover up others' image. Let people live in peace with their friends and family in hard times."
